Technical Principle:

It has an extremely low odor threshold (detectable at 0.1 ppb), is chemically stable, and does not readily react with pipeline materials.

Typical addition concentrations are 15-30 mg/m³ (natural gas) or 50-100 mg/m³ (LPG), ensuring that even low-concentration leaks can be detected.

Application Scenarios:

City Gas: Mandatory addition to odorless gas, covering transmission and distribution networks, pressure regulating stations, etc.

Industrial Sector: Safety monitoring in chemical plants and LPG storage tank areas.

Supporting Equipment: Requires integration with online monitoring devices to monitor the terminal concentration in real time (e.g., ≥80% of the initial concentration is required).

Industry Standards:

Complies with GB/T 19206-2020 "Tetrahydrothiophene Odorant for Natural Gas" and EN 13726:2002 (European Standard).

Transportation must comply with hazardous chemicals regulations (UN No. 2412), and storage must be protected from light and sealed. Precautions:

High concentrations may irritate the respiratory tract; protective equipment must be worn during handling.

Avoid storing with oxidizers to prevent decomposition and the formation of sulfur dioxide.
